Fundamentals
of Fitness
When starting out on your fitness journey understanding the fundamentals of fitness can help you meet your goals and stay on track without set backs.

1. Find a Professional Reference to learn from. Whether it be online, at your local gym, personal trainer (good one), friend, etc. as long as they are a solid teacher of the basic to get you started, and guide you on form, intensity, load, and frequency.

2. Start with your refrigerator. Keep the food to minimum and healthy.
Eat at home. It saves cash and calories. Food is your fuel, so don't flood your engine. Keep it clean.

3. Cardio is a daily to do. It's 10 to 60 mins of your time which is far less than what is being spent on your smartphones, in front of the TVs, socializing over dinner... you are just not use to it yet as part of your day. Learning the different styles and forms of cardio will also help you break free from the same old same old train of thought about fitness.

4. Strength training is a must. Weights are not just for the bodybuilders. To have solid overall health, resistance/strength training is imperative.

5. Flexibility and moving in our natural patterns optimally is one of the most important fundamentals of fitness.
